BREWS AND BLOOMS
Sept. 10, 6:30-9:30 p.m., is the new date and time to experience live music by the Jeff Jacobs Band. More than 20 craft beer and food vendors will descend onto the beautiful Botanical Garden for attendees to enjoy. Working closely with San Antonio Cerveceros, Brews and Blooms provides a venue for new and seasoned local craft breweries to showcase just why craft brews have become so popular around the country and especially here in the Alamo City.
The beer selections will offer a pleasing variety of 30 to 40 craft beers, from ales to lagers, including some great fall releases from local and regional breweries like Southerleigh, Alamo Beer and Blue Star Brewing, just to name a few.

BAKERY LORRAINE CREATES NEW MENU AT DOSEUM CAFE
Bakery Lorraine, owned by chefs Anne Ng, Jeremy Mandrell and operator Charlie Biedenharn, has quickly become a sensation in San Antonio. This local favorite, named one of the best new bakeries in the U.S. by Food & Wine as well as one of the “13 Destination Bakeries” by Conde Nast Traveler is famous for its colorful macarons and exquisite French pastries. The restaurant recently announced its partnership with The DoSeum, San Antonio’s museum for kids. In addition to the famous Parisian macarons and divine pastries like the pain au chocolat, the DoSeum Café menu also features house -made applesauce, a grilled cheese sandwich, an almond butter with peach or grape jelly sandwich, and more for the kids. For adults, tasty options include the avocado toast, chicken salad sandwich, chop salad and more.
SUNDAY JAZZ AT THE WITTE MUSEUM
On the second Sunday of the month enjoy a relaxing afternoon listening to jazz under the pecan trees at the Will Smith Amphitheater. Food and beverages are available for purchase from Picante Grill. Sunday Jazz at the Witte is presented in partnership with Trinity University’s KRTU Jazz 91.7. Sarah Arenella will perform Sept. 11.

CHOCOLLAZO, A SWEETS DELIGHT
Chocollazo, a sweets restaurant, opened its doors in August at 4013 Broadway Street at the Boardwalk. Owned by Frank and Mary Collazo, the shop is the newest incarnation of Chocollazo, which started out as a food truck nearly four years ago. “We are a destination for sweets offering chocolates, truffles, fondue, nostalgic candy, pastries, ice cream, even tableside toasted, s’mores and hard-to-find candy. And we also offer plated service,” says Frank Collazo. Mary, Frank’s wife, is a trained chocolatier who makes the chocolate candy confections and works alongside pastry chef Jenni Williams.
Not only does the shop offer in-store delights, it will also deliver gifts or party trays. The Chocollazo Chocolate Trolley will deliver custom-made confections to your soiree — a unique way to treat your guests. Chocollazo caters business events, birthday parties, weddings and more. And if you’re looking for a gourmet favor your guests can take home, Chocollazo is a one-stop-shop for packaging, tags, ribbons and truffles and offers gift wrapping at no additional charge.
