The McNay Art Museum and grounds will reopen with regular hours of operation on Wednesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 25 for McNay Members and on Friday, June 26 for all visitors. Please note: On Thursday, June 25, the McNay will close at 6 p.m. H-E-B Free Thursday Night extended hours (4 to 9 p.m.) will resume Thursday, July 2.Because the health and safety of our visitors and staff is our highest priority, the McNay will implement the following procedures upon reopening:
- Limited capacity of 25 percent
- Masks required for staff and all visitors 2 years and older
- Increased sanitation of all areas including high-touch points
- Additional hand sanitizer available for visitor convenience
- Optional contactless online ticketing available at mcnayart.org/tickets
- Plexiglass safety barriers installed at Front Desk and Museum Store
- Physical distancing will be practiced in the galleries and throughout the Museum, including both public and back-of-house areas. Additional signage will be added to provide guidance.

- Spotlight: San Antonio’s K-12 Artists Embrace Diego Rivera extended to September 6, 2020

About McNay Art MuseumThe McNay Art Museum engages a diverse community in the discovery and enjoyment of the visual arts. Built in the 1920s by artist and educator Marion Koogler McNay, the Spanish Colonial Revival residence became the site of Texas’s first museum of modern art when it opened in 1954. Today, more than 200,000 visitors a year enjoy works by modern masters including Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Edward Hopper, Joan Mitchell, Alice Neel, Georgia O’Keeffe, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The 23 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds include sculptures by Robert Indiana, Luis A. Jiménez Jr., George Rickey, Joel Shapiro, and Kiki Smith.
