Railroad Baron’s Ball

Hot Wells Conservancy hosted its 4th Annual Railroad Baron’s Ball at the historic Sunset Station.  The magical evening supported the mission of the Hot Wells Conservancy to protect, preserve, interpret, and promote the Hot Wells Ruin. The event honored Rosemary Kowalski, Tony Davila, Lila Cockrell, Robert Rivard, and the San Antonio Conservation Society.   Award-winning Latin jazz artist Henry Brun and The International Trio entertained the sold-out crowd.

River of Music

The beautiful St. Anthony Hotel was the venue for the annual River of Music Gala celebrating 80 magical years of music and entertaining audiences from San Antonio and afar. 

Honorary gala chairs: Kelley and Pat Frost, Erika Prosper and the Honorable Ron Nirenberg, Tracey Wolff and the Honorable Nelson Wolff oversaw an evening full of festivities.  Guests enjoyed auctions, prizes, fine dining, and music from San Antonio musicians as well as entertainment by The Dirty River Orchestra.  Gala co-chairs Kathleen Weir Vale and Taddy McAllister along with Elizabeth Eguia and Lauren Tolley know how to throw a party and entertain a crowd.

Honorary legacy chairs included: Mr. James S. Calvert, son of founding symphony board member Carolyn Rice Calvert, Mrs. Martha Steves, descendant of founding symphony board member Mr. Albert Steves, Jr., and Mrs. Jean Rogers Winchell, niece of Russell Hill Rogers.

Bud Light Drift & Dine

36th Annual Jazz’Salive

 This 36th annual, free, outdoor, music, arts, culture and heritage festival will take place on Friday, September 20th, from 5 p.m.–11 p.m., and on Saturday, September 21st, from 10 a.m.–11 p.m., in historic Travis Park!

The Main Stage, presented by Majestic Theater, will showcase stellar headliners, including Five-time Grammy winner DIANNE REEVES, THE LAO TIZER BAND, TOMAR & THE FC’S, AARON PRADO WITH JACQUELINE SOTELO AND JOHNNY P, KEN SLAVIN, THE US AIR FORCE BAND DIMENSIONS IN BLUE, THE JAZZ PROTAGONISTS, WILL OWEN GAGE & THE ALAMOTONES, and the ADRIAN RUIZ QUINTET. The festival will also feature a second stage with a full lineup of notable regional performers.

The luxurious St. Anthony Hotel will play host to two Jazz’SAlive official after parties on the hotel’s rooftop Sky Terrace, with its gorgeous views of downtown San Antonio.  The “Old Fashioned” Swing Dance on Friday and the ever-popular Wine-Down After Party on Saturday will feature intimate and energetic musical performances as well as specialty wines and cocktails. Both after-parties will kick-off each night on the roof following the evening’s headliner in the park. 

In addition to the exciting musical lineup, lawn games and other free activities, such as the popular Creative Youth Village, will be offered through the generous support of event partners.  Delicious craft food and a variety of local food trucks will be spaced throughout Travis Park for all to enjoy both Friday and Saturday.  The festival will also host multiple beer stations, along with a cocktail tent, where attendees over the age of 21 can enjoy craft cocktails from local mixologists, and a spectacular view of the main stage. The festival will also include a fun Saturday morning brunch with local eats and morning treats!

Jazz’SAlive is a Free Community Event produced by The San Antonio Parks Foundation on behalf of The City of San Antonio! Everyone is invited to enjoy Travis Park with great music, food, and festivities for all ages!
