In the heart of San Antonio’s lively 78209 zip code, a once-vacant retail space at Alamo Quarry Market has undergone a sparkling transformation. Lee Michaels Fine Jewelers unveiled their third San Antonio location in June 2023, revitalizing a former restaurant location into a premier jewelry shopping destination. The locally family-owned regional jeweler meticulously reimagined the space to mirror the area’s character and better serve its clientele.

“We’re always striving to elevate the shopping experience for our customers,” said Ryan Berg, Owner and President at Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry. “The Quarry presented a unique opportunity to create a space with easy access for our patrons in a great area of the city.”

The new location is a thoughtful example of interior design, utilizing the retail space’s generous dimensions to full effect. With its high ceilings and tall windows, the store’s layout incorporates these architectural elements into an upscale appeal. A mezzanine level showcases a beautiful conference room, which can also be used for in-store dinners and parties. A hospitality lounge area invites customers to unwind during their visit or attend special events.

What remains consistent across all Lee Michaels establishments is their unwavering dedication to exceptional customer service. “It’s the cornerstone of what we do,” emphasizes Victoria Beavers, Vice President of San Antonio.

The staff’s extensive training in the jewelry sector ensures every customer interaction is informed and personable. Relationship building is at their core.

“We feel it’s very important for our customers to know when they visit our store, they’ll be working with an associate who’s very knowledgeable about the product they’re selling and anxious to form long-term relationships,” said Victoria.

The Quarry store features a dazzling selection of fine jewelry from renowned brands such as David Yurman, Roberto Coin, Marco Bicego, and Mikimoto among others. It is also the exclusive purveyor of Rolex timepieces in the 78209 area. The new store features a Rolex shop-in-shop in the store that caters to the aficionados of these fine timepieces. Customers will also find an impressive selection of watches from Tudor, IWC, TAG Heuer, and more.

At its core, Lee Michaels is a family story, one that began 45 years ago in Baton Rouge, LA. Lee Michael Berg’s vision has blossomed into a second-generation family business, with his children now leading strategy and daily operations. Ryan Berg moved to San Antonio 13 years ago to have an owner and family member in the market. The first Lee Michaels store at North Star Mall was opened in 2000. In 2010, Lee Michaels opened a La Cantera store, which just completed an extensive remodel in time for the holiday season.

However, Ryan may now feel a particular affinity for the Quarry location. As a long-time resident of 78209, the store is now part of the community where he and his family are deeply connected. He’s passionate about philanthropic involvement and supports local causes that enrich the culture of our city. Ryan is the current Chair of the Witte Museum Board of Trustees, the immediate past chair of the American Cancer Society for South Texas, and a current board member of Christus Hospital Friends Foundation.

“We believe in giving back to the communities where we do business; it’s the foundation of our success,” Ryan said.

Recognizing that each piece of jewelry commemorates a unique life event, they maintain a personal touch that transcends the transactional nature of retail.

“We’re in the business of celebrating life’s significant moments,” said Ryan. “We accompany our customers on their life’s journey, from marriages and births to anniversaries and promotions. Our commitment to sincere, personalized service sets us apart.”

As Lee Michaels Fine Jewelers continues to weave its legacy into San Antonio’s community, its new location at Alamo Quarry Market stands as a shining example of luxury retail, family tradition, and heartfelt celebration of life’s milestones.
