Fifty Bags. One Powerful Lesson.

Students in MacArthur High School’s Beyond 18+ program recently rolled up their sleeves to make sure students have some food essentials during Spring Break.

They filled nearly 50 bags with canned fruits, vegetables and peanut butter — simple items that make a big difference when school meals aren’t available.

But this program is about more than food.

For our Beyond 18+ students at MacArthur, it’s hands-on learning with heart. They practice teamwork, organization, communication and responsibility. They follow multi-step directions, problem-solve in real time and take pride in completing a project that directly impacts others.

They’re not just packing bags. They are building skills and community #theNEISDway

NEISD offers Beyond 18+ programs at our high schools to provide students who have met their high school requirements with additional support to help them develop life skills and job training as they prepare for life after high school.
