Bringing La Reata to Life Through Creative Collaboration
Since the start of the year, the Saint Mary’s Hall yearbook committee has been hard at work planning and designing this year’s edition of La Reata. This month, the team presented their yearbook proposal outlining their theme, visual direction, and design objectives; each element thoughtfully crafted to reflect the spirit of our school community. Their efforts culminated in a design session with Mica Carpenter, yearbook representative from Josents Photography, where students engaged in a live design session with professional graphic designers to refine layout strategies and visual storytelling techniques.
Beyond aesthetics, the committee explored the physical experience of the yearbook itself, discussing cover construction and paper quality with impressive attention to detail. Options such as liquid embossing, beveled textures, and holographic finishes were considered, all with the goal of creating a publication that feels as memorable as the moments it captures. This hands-on experience offered students a unique opportunity to apply design thinking, project management, and collaborative problem-solving in a real-world context. We’re excited to see their vision come to life in this year’s La Reata. We can’t wait for the moment when every student receives their copy, holding in their hands a beautifully crafted yearbook that celebrates their shared experiences and memories.
