Barons Battle to the Finish at STFC Championship

The Saint Mary’s Hall Middle School Football team closed a remarkable season with a runner-up finish at the STFC Championship, a campaign defined not only by victories on the field, but by the unity, grit, and growth that carried them there.

From the opening kickoff of the season, the Barons showed a spirit that goes beyond the scoreboard.  A blend of determination and discipline that turned a group of Form 6, 7, and 8 athletes into a single, cohesive team. Week after week, they refined their rhythm, executing with precision, and the unmistakable confidence of a program on the rise.

The championship was hosted by San Marcos Academy, where the Barons’ resilience was on full display. Facing an all–Form 8 squad from Round Rock Academy, they fought through every down with heart and composure, leaving nothing behind but effort and pride. The game may have ended in defeat, but it cemented something greater. The emergence of a team whose foundation is built on hard work and the belief that greatness is earned together.

The second-place finish marks one of the strongest showings in recent years for SMH Middle School Football, a testament to the players’ commitment and the guidance of their coaches throughout the fall. More than a medal or a trophy, this season’s story is one of development. Younger Barons learning from older peers, every practice a classroom, every game a step forward.

As the helmets come off and the echoes of this season remain, the future of Baron Football burns bright, powered by the teamwork and tenacity that carried this squad to the championship game.
