Hall of Famer and Saint Mary’s Hall Grad Joins Lacrosse Coaching Staff

Lacrosse coach

We are thrilled to announce that Greg Bice, a proud alumnus from the Saint Mary’s Hall Class of 1999, will be joining our coaching staff as the Lacrosse Director of Player Development. In this role, Coach Bice will collaborate closely with our Head Men’s and Head Women’s Lacrosse Coaches to establish a comprehensive feeder program aimed at nurturing the talents of our Middle and Lower School lacrosse players, while also building our academy lacrosse program. With his extensive knowledge and experience, Coach Bice is poised to be a tremendous asset to our lacrosse community.

Known for his outstanding playing career and impactful contributions to the sport, Greg Bice was a standout player at Saint Mary’s Hall, instrumental in leading his team to back-to-back State Championships in 1998 and 1999. He earned All-State honors in 1997, 1998 and 1999, was named Final Four MVP in 1998, and became a High School All-American in 1999. Notably, he was the first Texas lacrosse player to earn a Division I scholarship, to THE Ohio State.

At Ohio State University, Bice became a dominant force, serving as the centerpiece of the Buckeye’s defense from 2001 to 2004, where he played a pivotal role in securing the team’s second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. He was twice named an All-American, and in 2004, his outstanding performance earned him the title of Great Western Lacrosse League Co-Player of the Year.

Bice’s professional career in Major League Lacrosse (MLL) spanned 13 seasons, during which he played for five different teams. His exceptional skills and sportsmanship were recognized with four MLL All-Star selections and two New Balance Sportsman of the Year awards.

Beyond his playing career, Bice has continued to make a lasting impact on the sport. In 2009, he co-founded Resolute Lacrosse in Columbus, Ohio, alongside fellow Ohio State Lacrosse alum and MLL All-Star Anthony Kelly. Resolute Lacrosse has since become a standard bearer in lacrosse training and athlete development.

In his free time, Bice serves as a color commentator for Big Ten Network’s lacrosse coverage and sits on the advisory board of Lacrosse the Nations, an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play to foster education and life skills in children from impoverished communities worldwide.
