Two years ago, I was presented with the opportunity to purchase 850 Estes. The home was hidden behind overgrown landscaping and appeared tired from the street. Most people overlooked it. I didn’t.
The Paschal family had lived there since the mid-1960s. The home remained filled with a lifetime of memories. When I first walked through the house, I knew within minutes it was special. I made an offer. Weeks later, the Realtor returned with one final question she had asked every interested buyer: “What are your plans for the house?”
My answer was simple: “I will not tear this house down.” I explained that our goal was to preserve its history, honor the family’s memories, and give another family the opportunity to love it for generations to come.
I believe that answer is why our offer was accepted. 850 Estes did more than become another successful restoration. It became the home that defined J Doyal Homes.
