The Scoop

Many of us have traveled outside 1604 to entertain friends and family at the ever-popular Top Golf located off I-10. Hitting golf balls is enjoyable, even for those who don’t golf and do when there is food and drink involved.

I am happy to report that soon we won’t have to travel far to enjoy this type of activity. I am referring to the changes that are happening to Alamo City Golf Driving Range located on San Pedro Avenue next to Pep Boys. At this point you can see the framing of a building. Housed inside this building will be a bar and grill! The owner of this driving range has also improved the driving range, and it’s slated to be open evenings also.

There are other buildings that have sold in our part of town. You may have driven by some on the way to or from the Home Depot located on Sunset. My understanding is that many of these on Sunset that are selling are going to somehow be related to the medical field. Should I hear anything different, I will let you know.

This month I would like to tell you about another business which may not be on your radar. But first, I know that many who have kids under 14 may have quite a collection of a popular toy that made a comeback from when we were kids. In my case, my daughter was crazy about Lego Friends, which the company created to grab the attention of young girls, and boy did it!
In the years past she spent hours creating with these plastic pieces… now to the present. She like many kids her age lost interest. So what to do with the investment we made supplying our kids with this popular toy?

This brings us to the business I want to tell you about. San Antonio Plastic Bricks is located in Olmos Park on McCullough. In my case, my daughter kept most of the boxes as well as the instruction books of her Lego Friends. We were going on a cruise and she wanted some spending money. We found out that this store not only buys used Legos they give a very fair price for it! In our case she got over $200.00! The owner is a super nice guy. Gather up those old Lego pieces and tell him I sent you!
